Madonna International Charity Peace Award Foundation (MICPA) on 5th of August 2015 donated the sum of $100, 000 to UNICEF to support their activities and humanitarian services to camps of the Internally Displaced Persons and rescued Boko Haram victims.
During the presentation of the Cheque to UNICEF at the Headquarters of the Foundation at the Madonna University Peace Centre in Elele, Rivers State, South South Nigeria, the founder of MICPA Foundation, Reverend Father Emmanuel Edeh, said the foundation is moved by the number of displaced persons in the North East and as part of its own contribution, the foundation will continue to partner with UNICEF in the provision of succour to over 1,301,763 displaced victims affected by the Boko Haram insurgence in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno states of North-East, Nigeria.

The Reverend Father noted that he is ready to meet with representatives of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in and outside the country to negotiate the release of the kidnapped Chibok girls and also seek a peaceful resolution to the present terrorism menace befalling the world today.
While commending the Foundation for this laudable gesture, the Country Representative of UNICEF, Jean Gough, said the donation by the foundation is the first of its kind by an indigenous foundation and called on Nigerians to also join hands and support the humanitarian work going on in the north east.
The Chairman of the Board and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dubem Onyia, also disclosed that the fight against terrorism should not be left in the hands of the government urging all Nigerians to join hands to support the fight against terrorism.
